Costs psychologist / therapist

  • An individual intake takes 90 minutes and costs € 220,00 (excluding 21% VAT).
  • Each follow-up consultation takes 45 minutes and costs € 110,00 (excluding 21% VAT).

2. Relationship therapy and System therapy

In contrast to individual therapy, Relationship therapy and System therapy are unfortunately not yet reimbursed by the health insurance company and are not yet exempt from VAT. We are therefore obliged to charge VAT.

The intake takes 75 minutes for most therapists and the costs are € 211,75 (incl. VAT). Afterwards you and the therapist look at the possible follow-up process and the best way to plan the appointments. This means that the follow-up appointments can take 45, 60, 75 or 90 minutes.

  • 90 minutes: € 210 (excl. VAT), € 254,10 (incl. VAT)
  • 75 minutes: € 175 (excl. VAT), € 211,75 (incl. VAT)
  • 60 minutes: € 140 (excl. VAT), € 169,40 (incl. VAT)
  • 45 minutes: € 105 (excl. VAT), € 127,05 (incl. VAT)

3. Individual coaching / company coaching

A coaching process consists of an intake interview of 1,5 hours. During the intake we discuss how the follow-up process will look like. This means that sessions of 45 minutes or 1,5 hours are scheduled for the follow-up process. The rate for a 45-minute session is € 125,00 (excluding 21% VAT). The rate for a 1.5-hour session is € 250,00 (excluding 21% VAT). If your employer would like to offer you this coaching process, then we can prepare a plan for this in consultation with each other.

Pay and cancel

After the session you can pay the amount per pin. An appointment is not without obligation. If you are unable to come to an appointment, we would like you to cancel the appointment as soon as possible, so that we can schedule another appointment. You can do this by e-mail up to 48 hours, 2 working days in advance. If you do not cancel the appointment on time, we are forced to charge the costs.

Reimbursement

Reimbursement

Psychologist Practice Amsterdam has no contracts with health insurance companies, but the treatments with our GZ psychologists can be reimbursed (in part, 70-100%) afterwards. This means that you first pay the bill yourself and then submit it to your health care provider.

The reimbursement for a ‘restitutiepolis’ is higher than for a ‘naturapolis’. For the exact reimbursement it is best to contact your insurance company or look at this link: https://contractvrijepsycholoog.nl/vergoedingen-2019

The reason that we are not contracted with health insurers is that we want to guarantee your privacy and not provide your data to the national DBC Information System DIS. More about your privacy >

Additionally insured
There are certain things that may have a psychological character, but that are not reimbursed by basic or specialist mental health care. Reimbursement of this care can sometimes take place via the additional healthcare insurance (alternative medicine or psychological care supplement). This also applies to treatments with our non-GZ psychologists who are affiliated with alternative professional associations. You can contact us about this.

How does it work?
To be eligible for insured care, you must first receive a referral from your doctor. You take this referral with you when you first meet with one of our (GZ) psychologists. During the intake (this can be a double session of 90 minutes), you prepare a treatment plan together, which determines how many sessions are needed. Since 2014, it is no longer the case that you receive compensation per hour, but per time package. These packages are also referred to as ‘performance’ or ‘zorgzwaarteproducten’.

The performances for 2020 are subdivided into: (max NZA rate)

Short (approx. 4 sessions) € 503,47
Medium (approx. 7 sessions € 853,38
Intensive (max. 11 sessions) € 1.383,65
Incomplete treatment process (max. 120 minutes):  € 219,78
Uninsured product Consult (OVP/OZP): € 110

These performances are based on a separate patient profile.

Generalistic basic mental health care Short (BK)
The patient profile associated with this performance is:
There is a DSM disorder;
The average demand for care concerns problems of mild severity;
There is a low risk;
There is low complexity;
There are continuous/persistent complaints. Previous interventions have achieved insufficient effect.

Generalistic basic mental health care Medium (BM)
The patient profile associated with this performance is:
There is a DSM disorder;
The average demand for care concerns problems of moderate severity;
There is a low to moderate risk;
There is low complexity;
The duration of the complaints meets the criteria from the DSM guideline for the relevant disease.

Generalistic basic mental health care Intensive (BI)
The patient profile associated with this performance is:
There is a DSM disorder;
The average demand for care concerns serious problems;
There is a low to moderate risk;
There is low complexity;
The duration of the complaints meets the criteria from the guideline for the relevant disease.

Generalistic basic mental health care Chronic (BC)
The patient profile associated with this performance is:
There is a DSM disorder;
The average demand for care concerns risk-sensitive stable or unstable chronic problems or serious problems in remission;
There is a low to moderate risk.

Incomplete treatment process
The practitioner must charge this performance in three situations:
The referrer refers the patient to a practitioner in general basic mental health care, but the practitioner does not identify a DSM disorder.
It is concluded early (treatment of a maximum of 120 minutes of direct and indirect patient-related time) that the patient should be treated in specialized mental health care.
Early (treatment of a maximum of 120 minutes of direct and indirect patient-related time) the treatment is interrupted by the patient and / or practitioner (for example, because the patient prefers a different practitioner).

The rates are set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority for 2019 (NZA). All amounts are free of VAT because it falls under medical care.

Deductibles
The 2019 health insurance policy has a deductible of 385 euros. This deductible also applies to psychological care, regardless of whether or not the practitioner has contracts with health insurers.

Not using of your insurer
It is possible not to declare your sessions with your insurer. In that case we will use the rate that you find on our rates page.

Children and reimbursement
Since 2015, mental health care for children has been outsourced to the municipalities. This means that if your child needs psychological care and you want it to be reimbursed, he / she will be referred to a psychologist who is contracted with the municipality. The disadvantage of this is that there are often long waiting lists and privacy is not guaranteed.

Psychologist Amsterdam does not have a contract with the municipality, but if you have supplementary insurance, you may be eligible for a (partial) reimbursement. Otherwise the costs are entirely for the parents. With this we guarantee complete privacy for your child.
