That may sound very simple, but it is the basis of all connection. Being seen and understood makes you see and understand yourself. That is why therapy is often a process that brings you where you want to be. People who strongly believe that you can solve a problem yourself often opt for an unnecessarily difficult road.
Clients describe me as committed, empathetic, and reliable, as calm and patient, but at the same time also as solution-oriented and critical (‘You know how to stimulate clients to think about their own functioning’). And clients also describe me as humorous, and it is my experience that humor is also a factor of importance in many treatments.
During the ten years that I have been working as a psychologist, I have ample experience in dealing with very different complaints and problems. You can contact me for most problems. On certain days I offer the possibility to also meet after office hours, and I also treat in English and German.
About the duration of treatments psychologists often say: as short as possible and for as long as necessary. I know from experience that both occur. Sometimes only a few sessions make the difference, and it really does not have to last any longer.
But for more deep-rooted problems it is often necessary to work on change with a lot of attention, time, patience and perseverance. I do not shy away from such processes, on the contrary. I like to get stuck in issues that require more time. I have learned to trust that this will bring you somewhere.
