Rates 2023 Individual therapy (Zorgprestatiemodel)
New GGZ funding: the ‘Zorgprestatiemodel’
As of January 1, 2022, a new funding for Mental Health Care (GGZ) has been introduced: the ‘Zorgprestatiemodel’.
More information for clients can be found in this folder and also read our article Change in GGZ funding as of 1 January 2022.
From 2022, funding will no longer be based on a package, but on the actual number of consultations, the duration of the consultations and the type of consultation (diagnosis or treatment). In addition, there is no longer a standard rate per consultation, but each type of practitioner has its own rate. For example, the rate of a clinical psychologist will be higher than the rate of a GZ psychologist.
And finally, the rates are determined by the way in which the care is provided. The Zorgprestatiemodel calls this a ‘setting’. A setting is a combination of the required infrastructure and the use of various professions. It corrects for cost differences associated with the way care is provided. A total of eight settings have been formulated. For example, a consultation in a specialist institution is more expensive than a consultation by a healthcare professional with his own practice.
Psychologen Amsterdam works from two settings, namely:
Psychologen Amsterdam is an institution approved by the government (Ministry of Public Health) that provides mental health care (within the eight settings this stands for ‘Ambulatory quality charter section III’). In addition, our practice meets the quality criteria of both monodisciplinary and multidisciplinary care. Click here for an explanation of the difference between monodisciplinary and multidisciplinary.
Rates Zorgprestatiemodel as of Januari 1, 2023
The overviews below include the rates from 1 January 2023, as determined by the Nederlandse Zorgautoriteit (NZa).
The overview includes the rates for consultations that last 5, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90 and 120 minutes.
The duration of the consultations will be agreed in consultation with the treating healthcare professional, but in general the consultations will last between 60 and 90 minutes. We use the rate for the planned consultation, even if the consultation actually lasts a little longer or shorter, in accordance with NZA rules.
Rates 2023 System-, relationship- and family therapy
In contrast to individual therapy, system-, relationship- and family therapy are unfortunately not yet reimbursed by the health insurance company and are not yet exempt from VAT. We are therefore obliged to charge VAT.
The intake takes 90 minutes for most therapists and the costs are € 254,10 (incl. VAT). Afterwards you and the therapist discuss the possible follow-up process and the best way to plan the appointments. This means that follow-up appointments can take 45, 60, 75 or 90 minutes.
In some situations, a partial reimbursement is possible if the therapist is affiliated with a professional association, which is recognized by your health insurer. For questions about this, you can contact the practice assistant.
Please note: rarely a health insurer will reimburse (partial) system-, relationship- and family therapy if you have a referral from your doctor and if the practitioner is registered in the BIG- register. This form of reimbursed therapy is not possible with Psychologen Amsterdam.
Rates 2023 Coaching
In contrast to individual therapy, coaching is unfortunately not reimbursed by the health insurance company and is not exempt from VAT. We are therefore obliged to charge VAT.
A coaching process starts with a intake interview of 90 minutes. During the intake we discuss how the follow-up process will look like. This means that sessions of 45, 60, 75 or 90 minutes are scheduled for the follow-up process.
The rate for a session of 45 minutes is € 150,– excluding 21% VAT and € 181,50 including 21% VAT.
The rate for a session of 60 minutes is € 200,– excluding 21% VAT and € 242,– including 21% VAT.
The rate for a session of 75 minutes is € 250,– excluding 21% VAT and € 302,50 including 21% VAT.
The rate for a session of 90 minutes is € 300,– excluding 21% VAT and €363,– including 21% VAT.
If your employer would like to offer you this coaching process, we can draw up a plan together.
Reimbursement 2023 Individual therapy (Zorgprestatiemodel)
What is Generalist Basic GGZ and Specialized GGZ?
GGZ (Mental Health Care) is a system with a Generalist Basic GGZ (GB-GGZ) and a Specialized GGZ (S-GGZ).
A distinction is made between the degree of intensity of the problems and the required care.
The treatment of mild to moderate, non-complex psychological problems takes place by a (GZ) psychologist or therapist in the GB-GGZ. You can think of issues such as stress, burnout, depression, trauma, panic attacks, etc.
If the psychological problems are more serious and more complex, the treatment will take place in Specialized GGZ. The S-GGZ is characterized by a high degree of complexity of the treatment, which requires specialized knowledge. You can think of the deployment of a psychiatrist, EMDR therapist, etc.
When are you eligible for reimbursement?
To be eligible for insured care from the GB-GGZ or S-GGZ, you must meet a number of conditions:
The quality statute of Psychologen Amsterdam can be found on the website and the AGB code is mentioned in the quality statute. An AGB code is a national (unique) code with which the care provider can be recognized.
You must bring your doctor’s referral with you to your first appointment with one of our healthcare professionals. After the intake, the practitioner will draw up a treatment plan and discuss it with you during the next consultation. An indication is also given of the required number of consultations (this number can be expanded during the interim evaluation if necessary). If you agree with the treatment plan, the treatment will be started.
There are certain symptoms that may have a psychological character, but the treatment of these symptoms are not covered by the basic insurance. This is the case if you do not have an ‘appropriate’ diagnosis, such as:
Ask your health insurer for the complete overview!
Reimbursement of this care is sometimes eligible via the additional health care insurance (alternative medicine or psychological care supplement). Ask your health insurer.
From 1 January 2022 you will no longer receive reimbursement per package, but for the care actually provided. Although GB-GGZ no longer has packages, profiles are still used when establishing the diagnosis and treatment plan:
Basic GGZ short
Basic GGZ medium
Basic GGZ intensive
Basic GGZ chronic
The applicable profile within GB-GGZ is stated on the invoice. Profiles are not used within S-GGZ.
The note also shows:
Unfortunately, not all health insurers use the rates set by the Nederlandse Zorgautoriteit (NZa). Health insurers increasingly use the average rate for which they have purchased care from contracted care providers and call this the average contracted rate. The rates therefore differ per health insurer.
Restitution package (‘restitutiepolis’) or in-kind package (‘naturapolis’)
With a restitution package, the reimbursement is usually higher than with an in-kind package. The premium for a restitution package is usually slightly higher, but you can choose a care provider yourself, the so-called free choice of care. With an in-kind package , the premium is generally somewhat lower, but you will only receive full reimbursement for care provided by contracted care providers.
In addition, there is a combination package , which is a combination between an in-kind package and a restitution package . For some types of care, a right to care applies (such as with an in-kind package ) and for other types of care, a right to reimbursement (such as with a restitution package).
A few years ago, the NZa tightened up the regulations regarding the names of packages. Packages may only be called a restitution package if they also fully reimburse the care provided by non-contracted care providers (unless the costs are very high). As a result, some packages that were previously restitution packages are now combination packages.
For the exact reimbursement it is best to contact your insurance company.
Deductible
The 2023 health insurance has (just like 2022) a compulsory deductible of € 385,– per calendar year. This deductible also applies to psychological care, regardless of whether or not the practitioner has contracts with health insurers.
Pay and declare
Psychologen Amsterdam does not have contracts with health insurance companies. If you meet the conditions to be eligible for reimbursement, the treatments can be reimbursed by our healthcare professionals (partially 55%-100%).
This means that after the session you can pay the invoice amount by pin (debit card) and then submit the invoice to your health insurer.
Cancellation and no show
An appointment is not without obligation. If you are unable to come to an appointment, we would like you to cancel the appointment as soon as possible so that we can schedule another appointment.
You can do this by e-mail up to 48 hours, 2 working days in advance. If you do not cancel the appointment in time or you do not show up, we are forced to charge the costs.
